Describe what you do at Metro United Way:

As chief financial officer, I am responsible for the financial activities of Metro United Way. That includes, but is not limited to, producing the annual budget, coordinating the annual audit, overseeing MUW's general accounting and pledge processing activities and providing the primary support for the Metro United Way volunteer Finance Committee and MUW's volunteer Treasurer. As a member of the Strategic Leadership Team, I also provide input in developing and implementing MUW's organizational strategies.

What makes Metro United Way stand out as an employer?

As an employee, I have always enjoyed the comradery of our employee group. I have also enjoyed the flexibility offered our staff and the impact that our organization continues to make on our community.

What are some of the highlights working for Metro United Way?

Getting to work with and know so many community leaders and seeing how much effort they put into making this such a great place to live. I have tried to emulate them and serve on other community boards and committees that are making a difference in peoples' lives.

What has been your biggest accomplishment during your time so far at Metro United Way?

I feel that my biggest accomplishment has been helping MUW run its financial reporting and operations in a credible and transparent way that allows our community to maintain their trust that we will use the community’s funds as we have committed to.

How do you view your role in our community?

I view my role in the community as a leader and role model. As a former U of L basketball player, I chose to stay in Louisville because of my love for this community. In many ways I represent both the University of Louisville and Metro United Way and it is an honor to be associated with both organizations that do so much for this community.
